What's the sitch?

As we learned today, Hollywood is planning to bring back Buffy.  Don't get me wrong, I watched it with the best of them.  I knew the clever dialogue, and was even Buffy for Halloween once.  Overjoyed, right?  Oh no!  Because in a perfect equation, there must be factors.  You can't get the correct answer with out factors that make sense.  Joss + SMG and the scooby gang = hit.  With out the first 2, there ain't nothin. (see the 1992 movie-yes, there was Joss, but no scoobies).
Let's see if we can think of a few other things Hollywood screwed up, or gave us too much of a "good thing"
~Denny died, tragic, but did we really need to go there again Shonda?
~Once Dr. joel Fleishman was gone Northern Exposure was never the same.
~A SeaQuest reboot-2 seasons in a row.  Season 1 worked, but no, we had to keep trying and force a puzzle together.
~One thing that should have gotten more air time, Studio 60.  I miss you Aaron Sorkin, please come back to tv.
~ We could Argue that cupid didn't need to be rebooted, but I love cheesy storylines, so I was ok with it.  I don't think they should have canceled in the first place.  I love jeremy pivon.  It was right around the time they killed Sports Night ::sniffsniffAaronsniffsniff::
~Oh, and I'm still a little bitter I was never on MMC.  I guess I was never meant to be a child star.  I can still name them all though:)

::sigh::

First off, I am happily married, and have been for a while, but when Jillian went out with Jack tonight on The Bachelorette I kind of wished that was  me (as I'm sure every woman watching was).  From the moment he got the one-on-one date, I knew it would be something special.  There were so many sparks flying, it could have caused one of the california wildfires.  Send the other 19 guys home to their mamas and just choose Jake.
Now there are 19 other guys there (oh wait, now there are 14 guys) let's look at some of them.
Michael-my pick if Jake wasn't there.  He's sweet and nice, but not jake.
Mark-not enough screen time.
Jesse-dude makes wine and turned down Italy for her...he's cool.
Wes-wigs me out a little.  Don't think I could be locked in a safe with him.
Brad-he was a bit annoying while with Wes.  Reminds me of Frogert.
Kiptyn-She likes to make out with him, but when she went in for it, awkward.  He's hot though.
Juan (I love how Chris over emphisises the "J" with an "H" sound Haw-wan.
Tanner P-still with the feet.  Send him home.
Tanner who wore the green shirt-didn't see him a lot tonight, but still cute (not jake)
Robby-seemed nice enough.  Made her a great looking drink...not really something to build a relationship on.
Guy in the Speedo-thank you for not pulling a Brian and going Naked.  Little too much of that tonight.
Can't remember the rest, but they are not Jake, so they must go home.

my not so live blog about AI Finale 8

I thought I was going to miss the first 10 minutes since I was studying, but I didn't.  My computer clock is a little fast. I was going to blog live, but didn't have time, so I'm going to comment on this, in order (thank EW blog) and pretend it's live.

8:05ish
a montage of judges comments.  For you, for me, honey, it was spectacular...huh?
8:09
Oh look, who remembers Mikaela Gordon...in a few years it'll be Megan Joy cawing from some- one's home town.
8:10 Do we really want to put The Awesome Carly Smithson in the same category with Mikaela (who's name I would have forgotten if it hadn't been for the text)
8:12
And we're hearing the paso-duel song from DWTS.  Hmm..kinda missing Harold Wheeler and his Jeweled singers.  This song not written for 13 voices.  I love how Scott is being led around on the stage.  I forgot about some of these people.  Sorry Jasmine, I listen to Jesse and Felicia more than your songs.  Now your doing something young and hip...maybe it would have kept you around longer.
8:15
Cookie...I miss you.  Oh, sweet song.  You're going to tear up now, right.  So sweet; giving the money to cancer research.  God bless your family:)

(ok, forget posting times-just comments)

Golden Idols
If Nick/Norman doesn't sing, this is the worst segment ever..oh he's making me laugh.  Now I'm rewinding it so my husband can watch.  So funny...the power perch.
Now Ryan is wearing the glasses and head band...awkward transition into the first duet by Lil and Queen Latifa.  Why could sister not sing a song like this weeks ago?

And now for the most over played idol song of the year "I'm Yours."  Seriously, it's like we're at the end of summer camp and we have to sing everyone's favorite songs, no matter how many campfires we sung it at.  Cute outfits though.  Seriously, that's all Alexis gets to sing.  Don't they know she was screwed all season and now screwed at the finale.  Oh well.  I will continue to play her at the office and buy her album.

Kris and Keith
Both married to blonds, both playing the guitar and yes, Kris sounds better than our Aussie country star.  He's got the vote, I'm telling you.

Fergie and the back up girls
Did they just bleep something on Idol?  And it was like 5 seconds worth.  What does that verse say Ms. Anastacia Ferguson Duhmal?  It's a good production, but I'm curious what the Allen family is thinking ("We don't play stuff like this at home).  Still not as bad as Lo Rida (Low Rider?  I'm so not Hip)

Bikini girl is back and trying once again to let America know that Mr. Seacrest is straight.  He kissed her back.  Are those...oh yes, someone had some work done in the last year and is showing them off.  Now she'll show off her voice.   Proof of why we didn't see her after day 2 in Hollywood.  Looks only taking you so far sweetie.  Hi Kara!  Hi Kara's bikini.  That was awesome, and she is so shy!  Golden idols actually funny this year.

Next we have Allison and Cyndi.  Long live the rocker and let's get this as a single.  I'm loving the harmonies at the end.
We now have Mr. Ghoulish widower singing a song that Cookie rocked on last year.  Not bad Gokey.  Are your going to have a solo, nope, here's our friend and past guest judge Lionel Richie.  Anyone else hoping the Cheetah girls come out and sing since they borrowed part of "All night Long."  No ones hoping, me either.  And we're done with the medley.

Oh look I'm getting texted by Pheenie, and just in time for the beginning of the "Old people" section.  We have Adam, looking like the Angel of death, but looking normal next to KISS.  We have that followed by Santana and a sexy singing Matt and sexy dancing Kris.  And, we have Rod Stewart wearing a jacket made from Pheenie's parent's old couch.  This music's demographic is in bed, who are they trying to get to watch.  Now if this were a Kris/Danny Finale, the seniors may have stayed awake.

"We are the Champions" but who?  Pheenie is now betting me a Panera Bagel that Adam takes it all.  I'm in. Still think Kris has it....

And Kris wins!!!!  I have no idea what happened after this because Pheenie and my husband are back peddling saying they thought he might.  Yeah..no. I was the faithful fan.  I won a bet...WOO-HOO!!  I can go to bed now...after I write all this down.

Sing Sing Sing

It was a musical extravaganza on fox last night. First we had the AI finale-Part 1 where we watch polar opposites sing a song that was written for the like of Danny Gokey. I'm sorry Kara, but I heard an original song on Ophrah the other day by David Foster and that would have been SO MUCH BETTER!! It was so all over place that the other 2 rounds will "determine the winner" (like it hasn't been decided yet). No song was going to change a voter last night. Adam and Kris are so different it going to come down to which fans got through last night. "Ain't no Sunshine" was my highlight. I will be downloading it as well as most of the Kris Allen collections.
Now if Danny's votes go to Kris, we will have a shocker on our hands, but if Adams fans rally...game on!
Part 2 of the singing fest was the premier of Glee. I got home from my meeting after all this was over (thank you DVR) and my husband has downloaded Don't stop Believing from the show and insists that I watch it before bed. It was like High School Musical for adults. It's catchy, cute, and shout out to Jayma Mays (her husband is friends with my brother, so we follow their career:) I think the show will do well if, it just needs a little more momentum in the episode. You have to care about the characters. So far I just care about the teachers. I want to like the students more. Musics great though and they can sing (maybe a little work on the lip syncing though).

Barbie and her Ken Dolls

Dollhouse has been renewed.  There is smarts in hollywood (now if we could just get it off the crappy time slot).  But that is not what this post is about.  We are talking about Jillian and her 30 men on tonight's Bachelorette.  It's a guilty pleasure, but I watched Deanna get ditched and go on to turn down Jason, who made a mistake and gave Melissa over to the ballroom dancers.  Now we have sweet, delightful, hot tub blushing Jillian and her 30 Merry Men.  I'm happily married and these guys were turning my head.  There were a few that I liked for her.
Jake- the pilot.  If he's the one with a girlfriend, I'm going to get a new TV, because my shoe will be lodged in this one (honey, we're getting a flats screen).
Juan-Hello Cute Spanish family
Sasha-Hello other cute family from not in these parts.
Michael-This is not So you think you can Dance, but don't tell him and the model that, because Michael danced and Greg went bye-bye.
The only guy I wished had an early exit was late comer Tanner with the foot fetish.  There are 2 Tanners on the show and I loved the one in the green shirt.  Mr. "I need to see her Feet..." a little weird for me.  Oh and the country singer...not so much.  Billy Ray has a nice show for you over on NBC.
I know there are a ton more comments, like about the poor guy who blanked  but go the 1st impression rose, or the 2 guys in jeans.  Oh, and then there was the lawyer she sent home who doesn't know anything about the country.    There will be lots of good stories and for more details, check out Kristen and Chris over at ew.com.

oh just get it over with...

So I figured it was George who was sitting faceless in the OR long before the big reveal on GA.  I think that gave me more anxiety then the whole 2 hours all at once.  It was a sweet episode though and one I may comment on later, but now it's time to sleep.

and now we wait

Be it 6 days, or 9 months, both shows that I care about are going to make me wait.  First, we put the Go in Gokey and Danny is headed back to Milwaukee (unless Michael Bolton's Manager find's him first).  Kris is safe and we'll have to wait and see if the republics, Mylie Cyrus, Cute vote is enough to take him far enough as the Democratic, liberal, rocker vote.  No Predictions here, I have to wait and see along with America.
Now onto Lost...
I wish I was blogging while it was on, because there were so many great little moments.  Let go character by character
Jacob's flashbacks-first ten minutes showed us more then the rest of the season, and it just got better.  He's really old and he's got an enemy.  It was sort of a Jacob, Esau/God, Satan/ Good, evil thing going on.  I guess Jacob could be the savior-esk figure that Doc was talking about on EW.com.  You couldn't help but love him, but who is the mystery guy that took Locks body and is it the same as Christian Shepard and Smokey?
Jack-not much to, but he took a huge beating that Sawyer has been waiting 3 years and 5 season's for.
Sawyer-I love that he loves Juliet.  Enough to finally "live together, die alone" for her.  He was a man on an island and found someone else. I guess no man is an island (unless Jacob is, but we'll have to wait til 2010 for that.
Juliet-While I figured the bomb going off would be the last shot(kind of like I figured out about WTC about 2 minutes before the reveal on "Fringe" last night), I didn't know she would be the one to trigger it.  I love the white flash, very cool.  Have no idea where we're going next.
Hurley-He he come to save the day, once agin in the Dharma van.  And we got our flashback, which while meaningful, not as long and drawn out as I though (and no charlie).
Miles-Always says what the audience is thinking, " what if this is what made them build the hatch?"  Well, I'm guessing an H-bomb kills everyone around it, so there would be no one to build the hatch, unless it was far enough down to only kill Juliet (at least long enough to see if her pilot "V" is picked up).
Kate's Plane-Oh, there it is and the awesome NKOTB lunch box.  I know we waned to know where that came from (way more than the Hurley bird, and Kate's horse, which I think was Smokey judging her).
Chang's arm, yep, it's hurt.  once again leading to Miles' guess about this being the incident.
So Ben was not only in the Coffin, but also in a steel case, and dead all season, while Evil Locke roamed around to break a rule and kill Jacob (my heart went out to Jacob as he went up in flames).  He'll rise.
Ben-well he was like our Judas character, only he did the evil deed.  Not sure where he'll end up (hopefully with an Emmy this year).
Richard-still not sure about him, but I still love those eyes.  he also sounds good speaking Latin.
So 9 months.  I could be on American Idol before I find out where this is going.  Last year this time I was planning a wedding, so I had something to do. This year school will have to keep my mind off all these new questions.  At least I'll have a great Kris Allen Album to listen to (which will probably come out way before January 2010).

::stuttering::I'm..ok..if..Danny...leaves

So normally I always say, "so and so" needs to go home after an installment of American Idol. But after last night, I have to be ok with someone leaving. Based on performance, next week we should see Adam and Kris. Based on what the judges said (if America listens to them) it should be Adam and Danny. Now, I love Danny Gokey as much as anybody (other then the staff at EW.com/idolitry-save the rocker), but after round 2 last night, 2 guys made songs better than the original and that was not out "gowlish widower" friend. "Heartless" was SO good, in fact, I couldn't even remember is was Kanye West until halfway through the song. I jam to this song at the gym, and Kris made me forget who it was by...brilliant. Sorry Danny and Adam, my love goes to Mr. Allen today:)

I tired

Ever have one of those nights where you just can't fall a sleep.  Everything is keeping you awake; the airs too hot, too cold, your stomach hurts, you can't stop thinking.  I was considering going in to work late today, so much, I dreamed I called in sick, and turned my alarm off.  Good thing I shortly realized it was a dream or I would have been late 2 weeks in a row.
Why am I still awake?  Singing, though tiring, give you a rush that must be worn.  That and Marc hasn't seem me all day and I should be awake for a few minutes...:)  No, not that awake.  Long enough to say, hi, love you, good night.

Something new

I am finally portable.  For years i have dreamed of being able to lounge around with a computer, anywhere I wanted to be (wi-fi accessible) and type.  I now can!  I have my wireless MacBook Air and it so light and compact, it can go anywhere with me (unpaid shameless plug).
I'm laying here, a crispy critter, because I forgot how important sunblock really is.  I get 1 burn a year, and dear mother, I have it.  I have to move in a few minutes, but while I lay here, trying not to twitch to hard, let me tell you about the house we saw today.  Imagine everything you could ever want in a house, and someone you've never met, builds it for a charity drawing your about to enter.  Here's the catch, it's in the worst location, right down to the neighbor with a rooster that was crowing at 3pm (he's on Hawaiin time).  Oh well, we still bought our ticket anyway.  St. Jude is a great hospital and they do so much good, but seriously, next year, can we have a house at the beach..that looks like this one:)

Darn you Greys...

When I was a teenager I had a hard time crying. People would watch sad movies, get passionate, start crying and though I would feel bad, I couldn't cry. There was even a very moving Passion Play at our church and people were bawling....me...well I was touched, but still no tears. Then I grew up, hormones came, and so did the waterworks. Now at the drop of anything emotional, and I'm a wreck.
The first time was the 100th episode of Touched by an Angel. When it first aired, I knew people who had seen it and cried their eyes out, but I missed that episode. When I finally had the chance to see it, I figured I'd be fine, because much like Cameron Diaz character from The Holiday, I could not shed tears. Oh was I wrong. As soon as Wynnona Judd completed the unwritten phrases of "Testify to Love" I was a mess. I probably cried for several minutes. I truly believe that in not crying for so long, I had forgotten how to recover from this emotion. Ever since then this has not been an issue.
My favorite movie is A Walk to Remember. I've read the book several times and knew the ending, but as Jamie is walking down the aisle, and everyone knows her end is near, I blubbered with the rest of the theater as John Foreman played "Only Hope" in the background(I had that played in my wedding as well).
So tonight As Izzie walked to Alex, with the love for each other in their eyes, and everyone looking on; as he quoted the graduation speech and made it his own, I could barely see because of all the tears in my eyes. Needless to say, it doesn't take me as long to recover from these feeling anymore, but I did have to go back and watch Lost again, because sleep wasn't going to come for a while.

Save the rocker...wait, no go in Gokey!

As much as I loved Allison this season on AI, I am excited to see the 3 guys tri-duel it out for the final spot. I'm not 100% sure that Adam has this thing wrapped up. Lets see who's cheering theses people on:
Danny: People who feel bad for him for loosing his wife, 1/2 conservatives, and those who think he's cute. The soft rock crowd.
Kris: 1/2 conservatives, the little girls who think he's cute and forget about his adorable wife. Miley Cyrus/Zac efron fans.
Adam: Mothers in america, those a little more Liberal who want to break out of the box and love "artistry."
Who has my vote? Not sure yet, since I haven't voted since season 3:)

Allison: as much as we loved you, you weren't going to get the Miley vote or the rocker vote. You did however have the attention of most blogs (EW, TV Guide, E!) 4th place is still awesome. You get to be on a pedestal with Tamyra and Daughtry!

Not onto Lost:
Hello Richard....and lots of Richard. Makes me happy:) I adore our natural eye-lined friend. When he's on screen I get excited...something big is usually about to happen. Lots happened last night. Chang found his son, Locke Led his people toward Jacob, Sawyer was about to have a happy ending with Juliet and who shows up, Kate, who doesn't want things to go back the way they were. We saw more of the tunnels, and our favorite Iraqi was back! Action packed and can be viewed at abc.com

Ode to a DRV

I was trying to write a poem to my DVR about how I'm so happy to come home after a long day and have all my favorite shows waiting for me. I rarely watch anything live now, because I live life on the busy side. For example, here's yesterdays schedule:
8:30-5:30 work
5:30-6:45 drinks with VP (I love my Ice tea)
7-8:30 dinner with the in-laws
9-10pm workout and burn the calories from the wonderful appetizers with the VP
10-10:30 chill with Marc
10:30-10:45 shower (cuz I stank)
11pm settle in for some quality AI, Fringe and DWTS recaps (since I don't have time to watch them in completion.
Review:
Adam rocked out some Led and everyone had to follow him. Sure, the one time he's in the 1st spot is a week that no one can attemp to follow. Notice, he also was in the last spot at the end of the night.
Idol ran over causeing everything else to run late. Fringe was good, but if that was the Season finale it was a bit slow (except for the last 5 minutes and then it built and built...and the DVR cut out. (next time we have an "ode to Hulu"). DWTS was...short since I practically had to FF to the end to see Derek and Lil Kim go home. Oh well. Melissa is still there, I'm happy. Every week she's on it's like a reminder to Jason and what's her name that she's still popular with the common folk:)
Tonight is Lost which I probably won't watch til 11 pm:)

Sleep, No I never get enough

Since I seem to be highlighting days of the week, let's talk about Saturday. In my mind, there is nothing more annoying the a beeping alarm clock. (It's like nails on a chalk board). Even when I hear them on the radio, or on the TV, I twitch. Saturday is the one day of the week that I am not awoken by this awful sound.
Last night I was up later than normal, and enjoyed a little wine after dinner. One would assume I was ready to hibernate. Oh no! 9:30 am I'm wide awake!! This is not good, because I didn't have a nap scheduled in my day. My husband always says "Sleeping in wastes half the day." No waking up that early wastes potential time in the land of dreams. Tomorrow I'm leading worship, so I'll be disrupted by the God-forsaken noise once again. I lost MY morning this week. Hopefully next week I'll be able to stay in dreamland a little longer.

Fridays...any excuse to venture to Starbucks

There are 5 Starbucks with in a few hundred yards of my office. Grant it, most aren't real (like the one at Barns N Noble, but if I need a caffeine buzz after a long week (today-20 minutes ago) I can walk outside, cross the street and there is my infinite choice of caffeinated goodness.
If they are busy, I can walk a little more and try the next location. caffeine is my drug of choice and Starbucks is my dealer. Now, I'm not there all time. I do keep a pitcher of Ice tea at work for a cheap fix, but sometimes it's quality over quantity. Here are a few of my drinks and the moods to match:

Ice Tea, Black, unsweet-This is my favorite drink, simple, refreshing good for a hot day, and when I don't want to touch my weightwatcher points. It's my Happy drink.

Iced Carmel Macchiato, non-fat-A little more complex then the tea, but comfortable and filling and also good for a hot day

Caremal Macchiato-A hug in a mug. The ultimate feel good drink. Sweet, with a hint of espresso. hmm...

Hot Caramel Cider-This was great for the fall when I want to remember the leaves that turn color in Michigan and the trips to the apple farm...til SB changed the recipe and started using apple juice instead of cider. Yes, I noticed.

Mocha-Simple, but chocolate is always good and a great mixer with almost any other syrup (french vanilla, raspberry, hazelnut)

Now if only we could a Caribou coffee down here, and I would be in Heaven. All the great coffee and Moose:) (see: another obsession I'm sure I'll write about)

So much crying...and why I couldn't breath

Friday Mornings are bit tiresome for me because after my trip to the gym, followed by a mental workout that is our church plant meeting, I come home late to a DVR stacked full of TV at it's finest. Last night was no exception. I had Grey's, Private Practice, and my guilty pleasure Millionaire Matchmaker.
I was just going to stay away and watch one, but I was so emotionally drown into the first one, I needed some fluff. People on ABC kept crying last night; I know there was great reason, but their crying make me either cry or just chant "Breath...just breath." You can recap last night based on the crying:
Meredith cried when Richard apologized for not standing up for her as a child
Lexie cried when daddy came back 29 days sober in order to reach step 9 in the 12 steps.
Izzie's mom cried when Izzie's cancer seemed bad, and then seemed to get better
Izzie cried when she realized it wasn't going to get better
Christina cried when Owen was avoiding her with 3 non-words
Owen cried when he wanted to say 3 words that meant everything
meanwhile on Private Practice
Naomi cried when Sam said he still loved her
Dell cried when he got Betsie back
Heather cried when she lost Bestie and the 10K
Addision cried over the married man whom she can't have
Pete was about to cry as he proposed to Violet
and the winner of the most emotional moment that I couldn't event watch was when Psyco patient began to surgically remove violets Baby, causing her to cry...
Do you see where sleep did not come easy last night.
Thank the Lord for Patty Stanger and her millionaires looking for love:)
